Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) assist patients who have swallowing or communication difficulties as a result of an illness or medical condition.
We can treat a broad range of speech and language delays and disorders in children and adults. We can help people with autism and other communication and speech-related challenges develop their verbal, nonverbal, and social communication and eventually boost their self-confidence.
SLP’s assess each patient and develop an individualized, collaborative treatment plan under the direction of the physician together with the patient, caregiver, family, and care team.
Speech Therapy services include:
- Evaluation and treatment in the areas of speech, language, swallowing, cognition, memory, and safety
- Guidance for diet modification
- Interventions to improve problem-solving, orientation skills, and recall
- Communication boards and devices
- Voice therapy
